ABSTRACTrn(A) SUCI FITRIYANI (2005210210)rn(B) IN VITRO ANTI-PLASMODIUM ACTIVITY TEST ON LEAVES OFrnGarcinia parvifolia Miq ON CULTURE OF Plasmodium falcifarum strainrnD6 AND strain W2.rn(C) xiv + 65 Pages; 13 tables; 12 figures; 6 abbreviations; 10 appendicesrn(D) Key words: Anti-plasmodium, leaves of Garcinia parvifolia Miq, culture ofrnP.falcifarumrnMalaria is the issue of world health either for developing or developedrncountries. Much P. falcifarum resistant to malaria medicine encouragesrnpeople to improve new medicines. One of the medicines is leaves of G.rnparvifolio Miq that are used as alternative medicine because of containingrnxanton compound. The objective of this research is to know anti-plasmodiumrnactivity of G. parvifolio Miq leaves by means of microscopic and SYBRrnGreen I methods shown by the value of IC50. Leaves of G. parvifolio Miq arernextracted by means of chloroform and methanol solvent then the antiplasmodiumrnactivity is tested in in vitro by means of microscopic and SYBYrnGreen I method. In microscopic method, the value of IC50 from chloroformrnextract 33,17 μg/mL in strain D6 and 0,55 μg/mL in strain W2 is obtained. InrnSYBR Green I, the value of IC50 from methanol extract 48,00 μg/mL in strainrnD6 and 56,37 in strain W2 is obtained. From this research, it can be inferredrnthat chloroform and methanol extracts of G. parvifolia Miq leaves have antiplasmodiumrnactivity on culture of P. falcifarum strain D6 and strain W2 onrnmicroscopic and SYBR Green I methods in which chloroform extract hasrnstronger anti-plasmodium than methanol extract does.rn(E) List of references: 22 references (1983-2009)rn(F) Dr. Syamsudin, M.Biomed.,Apt.rn(G) 2010
